Data Engineering Architect, Brampton, ON

The Data Engineering Architect will provide accurate, easy-to-use and timely data solutions to support analysis of Retail data across Enterprise. You may also have the opportunity to support other unique projects and enterprise-wide analytical initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

• Create Data pipe lines from various source systems to Enterprise Data warehouse/Cloud. Extract data from various source systems and data stores for data profiling and analysis

• Support the implementation of solutions/changes to production environment. Document and Design Project enhancements and create process for Data life cycle management

• Support Data cleansing and data migration tasks. Generate reports using adhoc queries or using BI Tools like MicroStrategy

• Participate in feature engineering and development of Analytical models

• Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to gather data requirements for various data initiatives and other data consumption needs.

• Assist with data-related technical challenges and perform root-cause analysis to answer specific business questions

What you Bring

• Proven ETL tools experience such as Informatica, Attunity, Datastage or similar.

• Relevant work experience in Retail, Health care, Advertising, Marketing or Merchandising is an asset

• Hands-on development of Enterprise Data Warehouse environment with focus on Data Integration (ETL) and Data Ingestion. Hands on experience with data modeling, development of staging, EDW, and presentation layer

• Proficient with SQL, Complex SQL Tuning and Data Warehousing best practices. Hands on experience in Teradata and Teradata Utilities is preferred. Experience in BI reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, PowerBI is an asset

• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions to those at all levels of the organization 

• Knowledge of Project Management and Release management tools. Knowledge and experience in Cloud technologies like GCP, Azure is an asset

• Must be Detail oriented and possess problem solving skills . Ability to thrive in a fast paced, challenging and constantly changing work environment
