Senior Analyst, Compliance & Ethics:

Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a highly motivated Senior Analyst, Compliance & Ethics to lead and execute a variety of high-impact and high-visibility compliance programs and initiatives across Loblaw Companies Limited and its subsidiaries. We are looking for a self-driven and proactive Senior Analyst to join our Compliance & Ethics team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Compliance and Ethics. This role will involve supporting the development, execution, and maintenance of compliance initiatives across various business functions. The Senior Analyst will assist in identifying, assessing, monitoring and mitigating compliance risks while contributing to continued enhancement of our organizational compliance and ethics framework.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Compliance Program Support
Assist in the implementation and execution of the company’s compliance programs, including development of analytical reports to help inform risk assessments, audits, testing, and policy enhancements.
Work with various teams to identify key metrics and data sources required to build dashboards / reports and presentations related to compliance performance, findings, and recommendations for senior leadership.
Support the compliance and ethics team in responding and resolving incidents in a timely manner.
Log compliance incidents, identify and analyze key trends and themes.
Assist with compliance monitoring initiatives and testing from time to time.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the compliance framework and contribute to the enhancement of existing compliance policies and procedures.
Stay up to date with emerging compliance trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
Support ad-hoc investigations, documentation, and reporting for compliance and ethics related initiatives in the following areas:
Regulatory Compliance
Competition Law (Anti-trust)
Whistleblower Hotline
Conflicts of Interest
Code of Conduct
Testing & Monitoring of key compliance controls across the various programs listed above
Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and evaluate opportunities to enhance compliance controls.
Reporting and Documentation
Assist in preparing clear, concise compliance reports and presentations for various levels (including senior leadership), documenting activities and tracking progress against key performance indicators (KPIs).
Document key compliance process flows, risks and controls across various compliance programs and manage updates.
Assist with documenting key regulatory changes, updating and helping to enhance our internal register of regulations.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in management consulting, finance, managing business operations, and/or internal audit or external audit. Big 4 experience is not required, but is a plus.
Critical thinking and problem solving skills are a must in order to proactively tap into existing and potential data sources and seek answers to important business challenges.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex compliance issues in a clear and concise manner.
Excellent analytical, data analysis and visualization skills are required with experience using data visualization tools like PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Tableau or similar tools. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills.
Approach sensitive and confidential situations with a high degree of professionalism, upholding ethical standards, and demonstrating Loblaw Core values of Care, Ownership, Respect and Excellence in all that you do.
Strong sense of urgency, excellent time-management skills to effectively balance several tasks and projects in complex matrix business and operational environments.
Proactive and self-motivated mindset with strong attention to detail.
