OUR TEAM & THE ROLE:
At Loblaw, change isn’t theoretical - it’s practical, embedded, and delivered through strong partnerships. As a Senior Manager, Business Change, you play a key role in helping teams adopt new ways of working that stick and deliver real impact.
This is a hands-on, highly collaborative, individual contributor role within our Human Resources team, reporting to the Sr. Director, Business Change. You’ll work closely with business leaders, HR partners, and project teams to design and deliver pragmatic, fit-for-purpose change solutions - not observe from the sidelines or reinvent what already works.
This role supports enterprise and HR transformation initiatives including operating model evolution, technology adoption, process redesign, AI enablement, and workforce transformation.
Guided by our culture of care, ownership, respect, and excellence, success in this role comes from building trust quickly, forming strong relationships, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with others to move work forward. You bring curiosity, sound judgment, and a shared sense of accountability for outcomes.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable operating within an established enterprise change approach, and who can contribute constructively, influence without authority, and collaborate effectively in a team-first environment.
Success in this role means helping teams adopt change effectively, minimizing disruption, accelerating readiness, and ensuring business outcomes are realized.
This role is an opportunity to help shape how change is delivered across one of Canada’s largest organizations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Partner to Deliver: Collaborate with business leaders, HR, Learning & Development, Communications partners, and project teams to co-create and implement practical, integrated change plans.
Enable End-to-End Change: Lead hands-on delivery of change activities including business impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, leader enablement, communications, and sustainment planning.
Work Within & Strengthen Our Change Approach: Apply established enterprise change practices, tools, and methodologies while continuously improving how we deliver change across teams and initiatives.
Enable People Readiness: Identify risks, resistance, and change impacts early and address them through practical, business-aligned actions.
Coach in Real Time: Support leaders and managers directly, equipping them to lead their teams through change through active partnership, coaching, and problem solving.
Measure & Adapt: Define and monitor adoption, readiness, engagement, and business outcome measures to inform decisions and adjust strategies based on what’s working.
Build Change & Agility Capability: Contribute to a culture of collaboration, learning, agility, and continuous improvement across teams.
Facilitate Alignment & Action: Facilitate working sessions, stakeholder engagements, and leadership discussions that drive clarity, alignment, and decisive action across complex initiatives, while accountable for all associated administrative and logistical coordination.
Navigate Complexity: Build alignment across senior leaders, project teams, and cross-functional partners while navigating competing priorities and varying levels of change readiness.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Proven Organizational Change Management (OCM) Experience: 5+ years leading end-to-end, large-scale change initiatives with accountability for delivering measurable outcomes, including business impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, communications, readiness, and sustainment.
Experience in related roles (e.g., HRBP, transformation, or project delivery) will also be considered where there is demonstrated ownership of Organizational Change Management outcomes.
Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hands-On Delivery: Able to think strategically while also executing tactically, including building decks, facilitating sessions, conducting analysis, and drafting communications.
Collaborative & Curious: Builds strong partnerships, seeks to understand different perspectives, and contributes constructively to a team-first environment.
Influence Through Trust: Demonstrated ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels without formal authority.
Business Adaptability: Navigates complex, fast-paced environments and aligns quickly to business needs with an enterprise mindset.
Strong Communicator: Clear, concise, and practical communicator (verbal and written) who can engage a variety of audiences, including senior leaders.
Facilitation Skills: Able to facilitate workshops, stakeholder discussions, and leadership conversations that support decision-making and drive momentum.
Growth Mindset: Curious, solutions-oriented, and open to learning and evolving within a team environment, including leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, insight generation, and change effectiveness.
Thrives in Fast-Paced Environments: Effectively prioritizes and manages multiple change initiatives simultaneously while maintaining quality and responsiveness.
Technical Proficiency: Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, etc.); familiarity with AI platforms and tools is advantageous.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE APPLYING:
Work Location: This role requires 4 days/week in-office, primarily in Brampton; however, travel may be required to other office locations within the GTA depending on project needs. This approach is key to effective collaboration, partnership, and delivery.
Team-Based Delivery: Success in this role requires active collaboration and integration with existing teams, business partners, and established ways of working.
Execution-Focused: This is not a purely advisory or strategy-only role. You will be expected to deliver and implement change work directly, while partnering closely with teams across the business.
ASSETS:
- Experience in retail, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), or other large, fast-paced organizations
- Change Management certification
- Experience supporting enterprise transformation, operating model redesign, technology implementations, or workforce transformation initiatives
- Experience with agile ways of working, iterative delivery approaches, and change agility practices
- Experience leveraging AI to enhance decision-making, innovation, and business impact
